Cherish Your Mind

The biggest step is making contact with a counsellor which can seem extremely daunting and overwhelming. I have been in your shoes and I know it’s not easy. 

At Cherish the pearl counselling,  I can help by providing a warm, non-judgmental, confidential space in which you will feel safe to talk about your experiences.  I see you as the pearl and will value you as a person, acknowledging and recognizing your journey as well as helping to work with your individuality and beauty.

As an integrative counsellor  I draw on a range of different therapies including:

-Person Centred Therapy

-Gestalt Therapy

-CBT

-Psychodynamic Therapy

-Solution Focused Therapy

-Compassion Focused Therapy

The approach I use is pluralistic which means we work collaboratively as to what is the best pathway for you to help you to heal and/or make sense of what is happening for you .  After a number of sessions together we will review your growth so far and discuss whether a different approach needs to be used.

Whilst our sessions will always be focused on you, there may be times when I suggest a different activity combined with talking, for example a creative therapy or mindfulness activity which would be tailored to your needs.  However, this would only be something we explore after discussions with how comfortable you feel and there is no pressure to work like this.

Psychotherapeutic counselling can help with many issues and it is important that you are supported, become empowered and can cope with life’s challenges.  Sometimes we might not even be sure what the problem is, or we feel that it is too trivial to talk to a qualified counsellor about.  However, no obstacle is too big or too small.  Often it requires us to be brave to take that first step.
